The representative of Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye, was on Wednesday arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Wuse, Zone 2, Abuja.
Melaye, who has been in the hospital since he was accused of having jumped out of a moving police vehicle last week, was brought to court on a stretcher.
The police prevented journalists from going into the court premises.
He was granted N90 million bail.
The police equally took over the premises of the court, preventing vehicular human movements.
However, the police re-arrested Melaye after he was granted bail.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, confirmed the re-arrest of Melaye.
Moshood said in a statement: “Meanwhile, the Police Investigation Team re-arrested Senator Dino Melaye today, 2nd May, 2018 after his arraignment at Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse for the pending offences of Criminal Conspiracy and Unlawful Possession of Prohibited Firearms already filed in a Court of competent jurisdiction in Lokoja for which he will be arraigned without further delay.”
