The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Police Command, Ikechukwu Aduba, has said that 11 persons died in the Boko Haram attack in Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi State today.
Aduba, who spoke with newsmen this afternoon, said that a Superintendent of Police and two military men were among the casualties.
Two churches – Evangelical Church of West Africa 2, Railway and Catholic Church, Padama Mada – were also bombed by the Boko Haram attackers.
But no one died in the bombing of the churches.
The churches were bombed with Improvised Explosive Devices.
Three of the IEDs were planted at the ECWA 2.
It pulled down a part of the fence of the church.
All the 11 persons that died were killed in the town by gun totting members of Boko Haram.
Meanwhile, the casualty in the Kano explosions on Friday has risen to over 200, sources have said.
This was as President Goodluck Jonathan visited the town to see the survivors and also commiserate with the people and government of the state.
Jonathan vowed to bring to book the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, also said that everything must be done to bring to an end the activities of Boko Haram.
Jonathan has since returned to Abuja.
