Police celebrate Children’s Day with IDPs in Benue, share gift items

The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, Fatai Owoseni, on Monday led a team of police officers and men to celebrate the 2018 Children’s Day with the Internally Displayed Persons at various camps within Benue State, including Abagena, Dauda, Gbajimba and Ayim.
The Police boss, who was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CIID, Dominic Effing; ACP Emmanuel Adesina (Operations); ACP Waheed Ayilara (Special Duty); Counter Terrorism Commander, CSP Ademilua Kolawole; and many others, was received by the representative of the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Authority, Emmanuel Shior.
The Police Command, apart from the visits to the IDPs at their camps, also shared gift items worth millions of naira to show love and sense of belonging to the IDPs as part of Police community relations and social responsibilities.
The gift items donated and shared by the police in Benue State Command included 2000 books, 1000 T-Shirts, 1000 slippers, 1000 packs of pencils and erazers each.
Owoseni, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, felicitated with the IDPs and assured them of Police support and adequate security at all times.
He further stated that the Police will not in anyway toy with the absolute security of lives and property of the Benue State people.
