Operatives of the Lagos State police command attached to the Ilasan Division on Tuesday August 3, 2021 arrested two suspected armed robbers, Samson Tella, 37, and Raphael John, 21, who have been terrorising the Lekki/Ajah axis of Lagos State.
The suspects, according to a statement by the command’s public relations officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had the previous day, August 2, 2021, at 9.30pm attacked the owner of a Toyota Corolla car with registration number JJJ 242 FW, in the Ikate Area of Lagos.
They took over the steering, and drove their victim to an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) at Ikate and withdrew N20,000 from his account.
The victim quickly informed the police who tracked down and traced the car to a mechanic workshop at Lafiaji, Lagos Island, on 3rd August, 2021, where the suspects were arrested with the stolen car.
The victim has identified Samson Tella as one of the robbers that attacked him.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Special Squad, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
