Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspected cultist, recovered firearms and battle axe.
It was learnt that due to a cult-related clash in Ogwashi-uku where three suspects were arrested on Sunday, June 6th, the Commissioner of police Delta State Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali issued a directive to the Command state anti cult unit.
The Acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement.
According to Edafe, the Commander SACU acting on a credible intelligence, that another cult group will be converging somewhere in Ogwashi-uku, on Monday, at about 2300hrs, detailed and led operatives of SACU who raided their hideout at Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State where their mischievous meeting was to hold and arrested one Collins Okonji and eight other suspected cultists.
He stated that the exhibits recovered from them include: one English pump action gun, one double barrel cut to size gun, one battle axe and two live cartridges.
The acting PPRO noted that investigation is ongoing.
