The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of four mechanics suspected to be vandalizing vehicles and stealing brain-boxes.
The Command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in the statement he issued Monday in Lagos.
Hundeyin alleged that the four were members of a syndicate arrested by police operatives attached to Surulere Division.
“The suspects were arrested on Wednesday September 7, 2022 after a report was received that three Mercedes Benz SUVs brought in for repairs at a mechanic workshop were vandalized and their brain boxes and oil pumps stolen.
“The suspects, who were apprentices in the neighborhood, have given useful information to the police.
“Efforts are on to arrest the receivers of these stolen items,” the Spokesperson said.
He said that the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has assured that officers and men of the command would bring crime to the barest minimum in the state.
