The police in Lagos have arrested over 110 persons in connection with the clash on Lagos Island in the last few days.
The policemen who effected the arrest belong to the Rapid Response Squad and the Lagos State Taskforce on Environment and Offences (Enforcement) Unit, both of which are funded by the Lagos State Government.
The team, led by the Commander of the RRS, Hakeem Odumosu, arrested the suspects on Tuesday.
Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environment and Offences (Enforcement) Unit, Bayo Sulaiman, confirmed the arrest on Wednesday.
Sulaiman said: “A combined team of the RRS and taskforce were on the Island yesterday (Tuesday) night and arrested about 110 miscreants in connection with the mayhem the happened on the Island on Monday.
“The raid would be a continuous one.”
The suspects are to be arraigned soon.
