Three men, Abdulrahaman Okehi (28); Tunde Adigun (45) and Kolawole Ogundele (21), were on Tuesday dragged before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued at N183,000.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Foluke Adedosu, said that the defendants were arraigned on a three-count charge which included conspiracy and stealing.
She said Okehi, Adigun and Ogundele committed the offence on Wednesday at Bode area of Ibadan.
Adedosu said the defendants stole the motorcycle marked NAP407QD and belonging to one Jonathan Adedosu.
The prosecutor stated that the offences contravened sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol II Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and their defence counsel, Kamardeen Oyerinde, applied for their bail on liberal terms.
Chief Magistrate Adams Adeshina admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50,000 each with two reliable sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter to July 24. (NAN)
A 27-year-old Adewale Abass was also arraigned before the same court for allegedly defrauding one Ishmail Oladejo of N63,000.
The police prosecutor, Insp Oladeji Obayanju, told the court that the defendant was arraigned on a one-count charge of obtaining money under false pretence.
He said Abass committed the offence between 2010 and 2012 at Ibadan Magisterial District.
Obayanju said the defendant collected the money from one Ismail Oladejo under the pretence of purchasing a Nissan Micra car for him.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened section 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol II Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Adeshina granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N50, 000 with two reliable sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to July 22.
