The Plateau State Governor, Chief Jonah Jang, worships at the Church of Christ in Nigeria, Jos, Plateau State, which was bombed this morning by suspected Islamic sect, Boko Haram, The Eagle Online has learnt.
Jang was yet to get to the church, located close to the Central Bank of Nigeria building in Jos, at about 8am when the bomb went off.
Two persons have been confirmed dead in the attack, which was carried out by a man dressed in the uniform of the Nigerian Army.
The man was reported to have smashed the car in which he drove into the wall of the church, before the explosive device went off.
The Plateau State Commissioner for Information, who also worships in the church as a pastor, Abraham Yiljap, was reported wounded in the attack, which was carried out while the morning service was on.
As at press time, the police had cordoned off the area, with the Red Cross providing help to the injured.
Police is yet to make any official pronouncement on the bombing.
