The Plateau State Police Command has placed a request to the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to deploy more personnels in the state to end the incessant attack and killing in Riyom and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas.
The state Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Oki, disclosed this on Friday, while parading criminals at the headquarters of the command in Jos.
Oki said the command employed prudent utilization of human and material resources to sustain the prevailing peace being experienced in the state.
According to him, he organized series of stakeholders meeting between the Beroms and the Fulani herdsmen, which is a panacea for peaceful coexistence to check incessant cases of cow rustling.
Oki, however, emphasized on intensive patrolling, raiding of criminal hideouts and visibility policing that has become the hallmark employed but decried the shortage of manpower.
He complained of attack by motorcycle riders on policemen on the streets of Jos, saying some the motorcycle riders hide their sword on spotting policeman coming.
The swords are used to hack people to death, the CP said.
