In line with the Federal Government’s agenda on the transformation of agriculture, the Plateau State Government has purchased 120 tractors to be distributed to the three ASTCs across the state to boost crop production.
This, according to the state government, is a deliberate policy aimed at providing employment opportunities to young graduates in the state.
The state Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Davou Mang, dropped this hint at the 2014 budget break down, stressing that the state government has injected enough funds into the agriculture sector to boost income generation and to encourage peasants farmers
Mang said the Plateau State Government will now focus on completing the ongoing projects and completion of the Agricultural Services and Training Center at Kassa, Mangu and Shendam.
