Armed thugs on Tuesday disrupted the protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress in Kaduna State on Tuesday.
The President of the NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, declared the protest open on Monday.
The workers are protesting the sack of their colleagues and failure of the Kaduna State government to pay those earlier relieved of the work their severance package.
However, on Tuesday, armed thugs wielding sticks and other dangerous weapons disrupted the protest.
The presence of the thugs, who were not deterred by moves by security agents to dislodge them, was more felt at NEPA Roundabout on Ahmadu Bello Way.
They chased the protesting workers away from the streets.
The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, equally declared wanted Wabba and other Labour leaders earlier in the day.
