The presidential candidate of the opposition Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi has mourned the passing of one of the party’s zonal chairmen in Kaduna State, Lawal Garba.
It was gathered that Garba lost his life in a fatal auto crash along the Kaduna-Zaria road on his way back from the party’s meeting with Northern stakeholders in Arewa House, Kaduna, on Monday.
In a series of tweets Tuesday, Obi mourned Garba, expressing shock over his demise.
The tweets read: “I’m shocked by the news of the sudden and tragic death of Mallam Lawal Garba last night in a fatal vehicular accident. Mallam Garba was in attendance at the Arewa House interactive session.
His death is a huge loss to his family, the Labour Party family in Kaduna State and the Kaduna people.
“I pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and that God Almighty will grant his family the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”
Recall that Obi and his running mate, Baba-Ahmed Datti, alongside other party members, arrived in the state Monday to meet with the Arewa Joint Committee.
