A former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, on Wednesday said the Peoples Democratic Party would win the 2015 gubernatorial poll in the state.
Alao-Akala, who spoke to newsmen in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, said: “There is nothing that can stop the PDP from winning in 2015.
“We want to capture the state and we have all it takes to do so.
“It is just a matter of time.
“Everybody will line up behind the person in the front, that I can assure you.”
Speaking on his gubernatorial ambition, Alao-Akala said he was still consulting and would make an official declaration at the appropriate time.
He said: “When the time comes, I will let the people know.
“For God’s sake, I am very old in this game and I have the experience.
“Don’t rule out the possibility that I may come out soon.
“The signs you are seeing now is that a big masquerade is coming out.
“You know that the big masquerade dances last, because when it is out, all others that have been entertaining the people will disappear.
“I have not asked anyone to come out.
“They are also eminently qualified.”
The former governor, who said that the next election would be determined by experience, added: “We have to use an iron to match an iron and a bomber jet to crush an Armoured Personnel Carrier.”
Reacting to the controversial harmonised list of executives of the PDP by some stakeholders, Alao-Akala said what was released was a factional list and should be challenged.
He, however, said the party was not divided and was determined to win the 2015 election.
He said: “There is nothing wrong with the PDP executive in the state.
“Some members are only aggrieved because they felt disenfranchised and want to be part of the happenings in the party.”
Alao-Akala urged party members to resolve their differences within the ambit of the state chapter rather than seeking resolution at the national headquarters in Abuja.
