Barely 24 hours after an Abuja High Court sacked the executives of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by Godspower Akeh, the leadership of the party has sworn in the executive committee sanctioned by the court.
Justice Ishaq Bello on Monday declared as legitimate the state executive committee led by Felix Obuah.
Obuah had filed a lawsuit to challenge the election of Akeh, who was elected chairman of the Rivers State executive chapter of PDP at the state congress in February 2011.
The National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Victor Kwom, administered the oath of office and allegiance on the state chairman and secretary along with 27 other members in the presence of members of the National Working Committee of the party.
Present at the swearing in ceremony were the Minister of state for Education, Nyesom Wike; former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara; and Senator, Lea Maeba.
