Ahead of the 2015 general elections, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced October 29 and December 6, for governorship and presidential primaries respectively.
Announcing this in Abuja on Wednesday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, also said the National Assembly primaries will hold on November 22.
According to him, the dates which were proposed by the National Working Committee (NWC) is subject to the approval of the National Executive Committee (NEC) which is billed to meet on Thursday in Abuja.
He also announced that all public office holders who are interested in contesting the 2015 elections are expected to turn in their resignation letters latest by October 20.
Between October 27 and 28, sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for various offices would be available.
“We expect all public servants, government appointees and elected party officials who are interested in contesting any position to resign their appointments seven days before the commencement of the ward congress election,” Metuh said.
Ahead of Thursday NEC meeting, the PDP Caucus and Board of Trustees (BoT), had met on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively at the Banquet Hall of the State House.
