The Osun State chapter of the Hope Democratic Party has drawn the attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission in the state to some recent campaign posters circulating on social media platforms for the yet-to-be-vacated seat of the late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, who until his death was the senator representing Osun West Senatorial District.
This was contained in a statement by the Osun State Chairman of the HDP, Wole Adedoyin, shortly after an emergency meeting of the party in Ilesa on Sunday.
According to Adedoyin: “This is inhuman, heartless and cruel.
“It is now revealed that Senator Adeleke’s death was not natural but political.
“Imagine three weeks after his death, some members of PDP went to the social media campaigning for the yet-to-be-vacated seat of the deceased.
“We are also not happy with the statement issued by a factional Chairman of PDP, Hon. Soji Adagunodo, yesterday on the social media politicizing the death of our beloved Senator.”
The party further urged high profiled politicians and political parties to stop politicizing Senator Adeleke’s death.
“The government of Osun should quickly put in place committee with the major aim of immortalizing the good name of the first civilian governor of the state,” Adedoyin added.
