Apparently disturbed by the internal crisis that appears to be tearing the Peoples Democratic Party apart, President Goodluck Jonathan has been holding series of meetings with aggrieved stakeholders with a view to putting the house in order ahead of 2015 general elections.
On Thursday, the President held closed doors meeting with PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Tony Anenih.
Jonathan also met with some aggrieved members of the Senate.
The identity of those in attendance could however not be verified as it was said to be strictly private and not for media coverage.
Senators elected on the platform of the PDP have practically shut down the Senate as they have threatened not to allow plenary session unless they are guaranteed automatic tickets.
According to them, they have been pushed aside by their state governors, especially those who want to take their seat the Senate, threatening to frustrate the re-election bid of the President.
Also, President Jonathan met with party stakeholders from Enugu State.
The meeting was attended by the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.
Present at the meeting were the Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime; the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu; and a former President of the Senate, Senator Ken Nnamani.
After the meeting, they all declined to field questions from State House correspondents.
