Barely 24 hours after former President Olusegun Obasanjo boycotted the
Special National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, he showed
up on Sunday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Chief Obasanjo joined President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Dame
Patience, to worship at the Aso Villa Chapel.

church from where they headed straight to the President’s residence
They were joined by the Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadome.
It could not be ascertained if the former President’s visit was at the
instance of President Jonathan.
It was gathered that both President Jonathan and Chief Obasanjo held
discussion at the residence but details are not known yet.
However, issues discussed may not be unconnected with the development
in the ruling party.
It will be recalled that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and
seven governors elected on the platform of the PDP and some party
chieftains walked out of the convention at Eagles Square, only to
announce the formation of a parallel national executive under the
chairmanship of Abubakar Baraje.
