The suspended chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has responded to his removal by the Rivers State High Court saying the party is bigger than an individual or desperados.
Secondus had been having a running battle with Governor Nyeson Wike who ensured that he was elected as the chairman of the PDP.
But, due to political differences arising from the 2023 general election, the Rivers State governor facilitated his suspension through an ex parte order from the state High Court.
However, responding to his suspension through his media aide, Secondus said neither the PDP nor Secondus is afraid of the court; and that PDP, as a child of history, is owned by Nigerians and is bigger than any individual or group, including desperados.
“The media office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party has been inundated with calls from media houses on a press statement sent to newsrooms by one Kelvin Ebiri, Special Assistant on Media to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, announcing that ‘Court restrains Secondus from parading himself as the National Chairman, member of the PDP.’
“If Secondus and the party are taken to court, they will defend themselves.
“PDP and Secondus are not afraid of court. This party is a child of history owned by Nigerians, bigger than any individual or group, including desperados.”
