The Ogun State Police Command on Thursday said it had arrested a pastor, Adekunle Francis, for allegedly defiling of a 17-year-old girl.
Francis was said to have lured the girl, simply identified as Dolapo, into an uncompleted building at Ipamesan in Sango-Ota area of the state under the pretence of praying and anointing her.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement that the suspect was nabbed on Tuesday for forcibly having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.
Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, added that the victim lodged the complaint at the Sango Police Station.
According to him, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Akinsola Ogunwale, dispatched a team of detectives to the scene where the pastor was promptly apprehended.
He said: “On interrogation, he confessed to the commission of the offence attributing it to the work of devil.”
