The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted sunny, hazy and partly cloudy weather conditions over most parts of the country with prospects of localised thunderstorms over parts of southern states on Sunday.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Saturday, in Abuja, predicted partly cloudy to sunny conditions with day and night temperatures of 36 to 38 and 19 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted slim chances of localised thunderstorms over the Mambilla Plateau during the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency predicted that the Northern States would experience sunny and hazy conditions with day and night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 14 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, the southern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of localised thunderstorms over Lagos and Ijebu-Ode during the morning hours.
NiMet predicted: “Later in the day, localised thunderstorms are likely over Ado-Ekiti, Oshogbo, Abakaliki, Enugu, Owerri, “Ikom, Port-Harcourt, Uyo, Eket and Calabar axis will experience day and night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Sunny and hazy conditions are anticipated over the North while partly cloudy to sunny conditions are expected over the central cities, with chances of localised thunderstorms over some southern cities within the next 24 hours.”
