Former State of Osun Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, was voted as President, Nigeria Golf Federation in the Sports Federations elections held at the main bowl of the Abuja National Stadium on Wednesday.
Prince Oyinlola, who replaces the former NGF boss, Hon. Nazifi Mohammed, will lead the affairs for the next four years.
Some of the presidential candidates that were successful included Ibrahim Gusau (AFN), Senator Abdul Ningi (Hockey), Hon. Silas Agara (Karate), Daniel Igali (Wrestling), Elizabeth Binga (Taekwondo), Isiaku Tikon (Table Tennis), Samuel Ocheho (Handball), Aminu Yahaya (Weighlifting), Prince Timothy Nsirim (Judo), Dare Aiyemola (Cricket), Musa Kida (Basketball) and Musa Nimrod (Volleyball).
The venue was literally a battleground as the elections were marred by serious crisis with delegates in virtually all the federations involved in physical and verbal abuses.
