Nigeria’s Sports Wear Company, Owu, will partner the Cross River State Government for the Governor’s Cup, which starts October.
The competition will be played by all the 18 local government areas and it is also opened to private clubsides in Cross River State.
Owu sports wear started business as a foremost kit manufacturing company in Nigeria.
It is already the kits sponsors of Premier League teams such as Shooting Stars, Lobi Stars, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Mountain of Fire and Ministries Football Clubs.
Owu will kit all the semi finals teams and also the finalist in the competition.
The finals will be played in December during the famous Calabar Carnival.
The Chief Executive Officer of Owu Sports Wears, Barrister Tunji Brown, said they want to identify with the Cross River Governors’ Cup because it is one sure way of getting new players for the various national teams and the league teams in Nigeria.
Brown said: “This is a good competition to unearth talented footballers in Cross River State. We want to support the competition because we believe that young, virile footballers with potentials can be discovered during the competition.
“We will do our best to make sure everything works out well with all the players and officials getting quality jerseys during the semi final and finals of the competition.”
