Deji Akinsola, the Chairman of the Osun Certificate of Occupancy Scheme, says the certificate can be used to access loans from banks.
Akinsola said this in Oshogbo on Wednesday while addressing journalists on the Osun Certificate of Occupancy (O ‘C of O)-fast track scheme.
According to him, the C of O-fast track scheme will serve as income tax generator for government, provide legal title for owners, create affordable service/certificate and also to help businesses to progress.
He said: “Online applications from far and near are being received and people dwelling in the state have also been coming to the agency responding to the collection of Certificate of Occupancy campaign.”
Akinsola said the new scheme would erase all abnormalities and fraudulent acts by land sellers and landlords.
He said: “The scheme will enable individual land owners to process C of Os on their own in transparent manner that will be able to stand the test of time.
“The Certificate of Occupancy will in turn afford citizens to have access to loan facilities from financial institutions.”
Akinsola said the C of O would be issued to applicants within 90 days of newspaper advertisement and urged residents to take advantage of the opportunity to secure landed property.
Akinsola said the C of O form could be obtained online after the payment of N10,000 at any revenue collecting bank and could also be submitted the same way.
