The Osun Babes FC of Oshogbo says its target for the 2017/2018 football season is to win the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) and the Aiteo Cup.
The team’s Media Officer, Olayinka Olawole, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja, adding that the team wanted to surpass its 2016 position when it emerged third place on the league table.
He said that the players plan to lift their first league title this season.
Olawole said: “We have played seven friendlies so far against NWPL clubs, winning six and drew one.
“The team has also signed nine players, who will be unveiled next week.
“All the new players have agreed on personal terms with their clubs, so we are preparing earnestly for the new season.’’
The club official said he hoped the team meets its target this season.
“Last season, our target was to reach the Super 4 but we couldn’t make it.
“This season we hope to meet our target of winning the league and go far in the Aiteo cup and possibly win it.’’
The NWPL begins on April 7.
