Osun 2018: Oyetola’s victory our collective responsibility – APC governorship aspirant

In a release on Thursday by the Oyetola Independent Campaign Team, Oriolowo was quoted as stating this while on a visit to the campaign office of the APC candidate, where he expressed his total support.

One of the governorship aspirants who vied for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Engr. Adelere Oriolowo, has said the victory of the party’s candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, remains a collective effort of all party members in the state.
In a release on Thursday by the Oyetola Independent Campaign Team, Oriolowo was quoted as stating this while on a visit to the campaign office of the APC candidate, where he expressed his total support.
He said after the primaries that produced Oyetola, all members must come together to ensure the APC overruns the opposition in the coming election.
Oriolowo said there is no iota of truth in claims being made in some quarters that he was contemplating dumping the APC for another party.
He said it was the desire of his people, especially Osun West Senatorial District, to fly the flag of the party in the September 22, 2018 governorship poll.
However, Oriolowo said since Oyetola emerged the winner of the party’s ticket, it has become imperative for him to direct all his supporters across the state to give their support to Oyetola.
He said: “We have heard of some claims in some quarters that we may go to another party.
“Let me state that I am not a desperate politician and since our party has elected its candidate, it is our collective responsibility to ensure our victory.
“I have therefore directed all my supporters across the state to see our candidate as the next governor who must be supported with all that we have.”
Responding, Oyetola thanked Oriolowo for his gesture, stating that with the support of people like him, the victory of the APC in the next election is assured.
He said: “I know you to be a politician of note.
“You ran a good campaign and members of our party recognize your efforts.
“Now that you have assured us of the support, nothing could be much more re-assuring as this.
“We can assure our people in Osun that the revolutionary works that commenced almost eight years ago would continue.
“A solid foundation has already been laid by our boss, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
“We are not approaching a cruising level after the turbulent take off from a state of infrastructure decay and poor morale that we inherited in 2010.”
