Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, the son of a former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, is among the early appointees of newly-inaugurated Governor of the State, Monday Okpebholo.
The development was confirmed by a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua, on Tuesday.

According to the statement, Dr. Oshiomhole, whose father was once the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress and former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, was named as the Commissioner for Health-designate.
Other appointments announced by Itua were those of Musa Ikhilor as the Secretary to the State Government and Samson Osagie, as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
All the appointments are subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.
