Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has expressed sadness over the demise of the first civilian Governor of Delta State, Olorogun Felix Ibru, noting that Nigeria has lost a rare gem.
According to the former governor, Olorogun Ibru was a renowned statesman who used his resources to uplift his people and community, adding that his philanthropic gestures have impacted lives positively beyond Delta State.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said, “it is painful to hear that an astute businessman, a consummate politician and an outstanding community leader in the person of Olorogun Felix Ibru has passed on.

“There is no doubt that his memories will remain evergreen in the minds of the people.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the Ibru family at this trying time”.
The former governor while urging the Ibru family to take heart, added that the deceased left behind a good legacy for his children and other family members to uphold.
Kalu commiserated with the government and people of Delta State, Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) and the Ibru family.
He prayed God to grant the departed soul eternal rest and also give the deceased’s family the fortitude to bear the sad loss.
