The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has sent a Save-Our-Soul message to the delegates of the ongoing National Conference.
The Cleric, who identified hypocrisy as a major cankerworm responsible for Nigeria’s backwardness, categorically charged the conference not to do a hatchet job.
Pastor Oritsejafor, who is the Founder of the Word of Life Bible Church and the recently inaugurated Eagle Heights University at Omadino, Delta State, set this agenda at the Daughters of Sarah Convention, which he co-hosted in Warri.
According to him, since hypocrisy has caused friction in the wheel of progress of Nigeria and hoodwinked its unity and greatness for decades, Nigerians now rely on the outcome of the conference for magic option.
He said: “One of the things that has brought Nigeria to her knees is that we lie to ourselves.
“We know the truth but we deceive ourselves.
“We are hypocrites.
“We try to convince ourselves that everything is good.
“If you say there are differences, then you are a bad person but if you want to be celebrated in Nigeria, just come out and say ‘one Nigeria’.
“The moment you try to tell the truth, you are a bad person.”
Oritsejafor did not stop at that.
He urged delegates at the National Conference not to let the N4 million monthly take-home, its extension and other merits attached to their choices becloud national interest.
He continued: “I think all delegates should have the fear of God and tell the truth as it concerns those who sent them there.
“Let them table truth on the table and from there, Nigeria will be able to move forward.”
While he prayed that whatever decisions brokered at the conference would be implemented, he expressed optimism that the aftermath would yield desired results.
Oritsejafor said: “It will never be a waste of time as speculated in some quarters.
“The truth will meet the truth on the table.
“I believe it will yield good fruits.”
