Operatives of Operation Crush have arrested one Fatai Nofui, aka Itape, of 12, Ago Owu Street, Bariga, 28, and one Qudus Kazeem, aka, Bobo, of 14, Tape Street, Bariga.
The duo were arrested on September 9, 2019 at about 8:15pm at Ebute Bariga following sustained monitoring.
A statement by the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, said they are members of Aiye confraternity with allegiance to one Mohammed, alias Obama, who is their leader in Bariga.
Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the gang is responsible for series of violent attacks, armed robbery and murder in Bariga and environ, adding that they are on Police wanted list for the murder of one Fashola on September 3, 2019 at Pedro area.
He said exhibits recovered from them included an axe, a HTC phone, one Nokia and one Itel phone they snatched from one Amusa Bukola of 34, Odundi Street, Bariga.
Elkana said investigation led to the arrest of four other members of the gang, namely: Muiyis Saraki, alias Bosingwa, 23; Lucky Sunday, 27; David Okpa, alias Na God, 29; and Taye Balogun, alias Gbalagbala, 24.
He said investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court soon.
