One person has been beheaded and three others killed in a cult clash in the Ajah area of Lagos State in the early hours of Sunday.
The police confirmed the development on Sunday.
According to the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, Ogombo Police Station was alerted as early as 8:45am of the clash between rival cult groups along Abraham Adesanya, Lekki-Epe Expressway, with four members of Eiye cult gang killed by Aye members.
Two suspects: Saheed Lateef, 21; and Julius Augulere, 20, both of 13, Obodo Street, Oke Ira Nla, Langbasa, Ajah, Lagos, and members of Aye confraternity were arrested in connection with the case.
Elkana said they have confessed to the commission of the crime.
One axe with blood stains was recovered from the suspects.
The corpses of those killed have been deposited at a public mortuary for autopsy, he said, adding: “All the corpses have machete cuts with one of the corpses head severed but not taken away.
“Investigation is ongoing.
“The Command has launched a manhunt of the other fleeing cult members.”
