The Ondo State Muslim Welfare Board has called on intending pilgrims in the state to come for vaccination and collection of their uniforms at the board’s secretariat.
Alhaji Khaleel Fawehinmi, the board’s Chairman, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Akure that the intending pilgrims should assemble at the board’s premises on July 30.
Fawehinmi said that it was very important for all intending pilgrims in the state to be vaccinated, before embarking on the hajj exercise.
He said: “As part of the preparations for the 2017 holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medinah, all intending Ondo State pilgrims are to report at the board’s secretariat for vaccination and collection of their uniforms by 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
“The event is very important as there may not be another opportunity for vaccination before they leave for the holy land.’’
The board chairman said the pilgrims were expected to leave the state by mid- August, adding that about 128 intending pilgrims had been screened out of the 302 slots allotted to the state.
