The governors of the two owner states of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State have announced the recomposition of the Governing Council of the institution.
This takes immediate effect.
The two visitors, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, in accordance with the Edict of 1990 as amended, which made provision for the establishment of the university, jointly approved the Governing Council after their meeting.
In a statement by the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Sunday Akere, the Council will be chaired by Prof. Wale Omole and consist of three representatives each from the two owner states.
Representing the Osun State in the announced Council are Prof. Richard Olaniyan, Prof O. O. Ladipo and Prof. Moses Awogbade. Barrister Are Abdul-Salam, Dr. Wale Okediran and Chief Adeniyi Akintola, SAN, will represent Oyo State.
The representative of the owner states will be joined by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gbadegesin Adeniyi Sulaimon; the Deputy Vice Chancellor, three persons appointed by the Senate, two persons
appointed by the congregation, one person to be appointed by the alumni association, permanent secretaries in charge of Education and Finance for the owner states, while the institution’s Registrar will
be the Secretary of the Council.
