The Super Eagles’ head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has frowned at a media report that claimed he was quarantined due to an acute flu he is suffering from.
The report claimed that the coach was consigned to his hotel room as a result of the contagious nature of his ailment.
Oliseh however denied the claim, saying there was no iota of truth in the report as he is fully involved the Home-Eagles preparation for the return leg of the CHAN 2016 qualifier against the Stallions of Burkina Faso this weekend.
His words: “Where did quarantine come into place here? It is unimaginable and I plead with the media to verify their facts before going to press.
“Quarantine is a strong word and wasn’t a good one as nothing like that happened to me. I was not at any time remanded in the hotel room. So, where did the reporter got such from.
“It is sad and the media should get professional.”
When asked of his position about Emmanuel Emenike’s retirement from the national team, the coach declined comments, saying he would address the issue at the appropriate time.
“I’m just focused on qualifying the Eagles for CHAN, World Cup and the Nations Cup. I will definite speak about it but the time is not right yet,” Oliseh posited.
