Returning defender, Jores Okore, has spoken in glowing terms about the team spirit in the Aston Villa camp ahead of the new season.
Okore missed the majority of his first season in England through injury, but is fit and raring to go ahead of this campaign, one he says he is looking forward to facing as part of a ‘unit’.
“We have a great team spirit here and the atmosphere is good,” he said. “We are really pleased to be together and we’re all getting along; it’s great.
“It’s about coming together as a team and becoming one unit too.”
Okore is part of the 26-man Villa squad currently in Texas, United States of America and after his long lay-off last year, he is determined to get a good pre-season behind him before embarking on the Premier League season.
He said: “It’s hard work this time of year, there’s a lot of running and tough sessions. It’s really hard but we are enjoying it. I am certainly enjoying it.
“It’s important to get in shape and come through pre-season without any injuries and get a lot of football in,” he added. “That’s what we’re going for – to get in shape and get everything spot on so we are ready for the season.
“That’s why I came to the club and that’s why I play football. I want to show that potential.”
