The Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Friday mourned the passage of the President of the Middle Belt Forum, Dr. Bala Takaya.
So also did it say it will participate in the Summit being put together by the Middle Belt Forum in Makurdi, Benue State.
These were contained in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chris Ibegbu.
The statement said: “The Ohanaeze Ndigbo hereby mourn the death of Dr Bala Takaya , the President of the Middle Belt Forum.The shocking death of Dr Takaya has robbed the middle belt and Nigeria one of their glorious sons.The Southern Nigeria and middle belt leadership Forum will miss him a lot.The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Barr Nnia Nwodo and the National Executive of the apex Igbo body wish the governemt and people of Adamawa state and the entire middle belt the fortitude to bear the loss.
“In another vein the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbo stakeholders will honour the Middle belt Summit on Restructuring which will hold in Makurdi, Benue state in no distant time. The position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo on the restructuring of Nigeria for her progress remains sacrosanct.”
