In a move aimed at shoring up support for the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate for Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, the immediate past Governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has rallied the support of all past office holders from 2003 to 2011.
Addressing past office holders numbering more than 400 in his Asoludero, Sagamu country home, Daniel directed and urged the people to not only vote for the PDP candidate, but also use their connections to canvass for votes for Isiaka.
He said Isiaka is the best that can take Ogun State out of the economic mismanagement and misrule the current occupier of the office and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has plunged the state into in the last four years.
Daniel said: “Isiaka’s emergence is a clarion call from people of Ogun State having realized the error made some four years back and all hands must be on deck to stop this further drift.”
Reacting, Isiaka said he feels so much at home being once again with his colleagues, some of whom he has known for the past 12 years.
He said the mandate is not only for him, but for his generations, “therefore, all must strive to ensure that power returns to the people”.
While pleading for understanding of his colleagues, especially for the lateness of this meeting, the governorship hopeful promised to run an all-inclusive government that is people-centered, while at the same time complete all ongoing projects embarked upon by the present government.
He assured the people of Ogun State that his administration will focus on people, revisit the unjust demolition of houses without compensation and make sure owners are duly compensated, while ensuring prudent management of the state’s resources.
