The Ogun State Government had given N7.5 million to the families of five policemen killed by armed robbers in the state between Sunday night and Monday morning.
The donation was announced on Wednesday by the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa.
Each family was given N1.5 million.
The late policemen are Inspector Christopher Uku, Inspector Josiah Ehoda, Sergeant James Adejo, Sergeant Nduka Nwachukwu and Corporal Istifanus Day.
An initial N500,000 was presented to the widows of the slain policemen on Wednesday.
Adeoluwa said the N500,000 was for the burial of the policemen while N1 million would be given to each family after the burial.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye; and the state Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Abdulkadri Muhammadu, wept at the presentation ceremony.
