The Ogun State Police Command has begun investigation into the case of a sudden and unnatural death of a 45-year-old woman, Tolulope Olusanya, in the Madojutimi-Abiola Way area of Abeokuta, the state capital.
This information was gleaned from a Situation Report obtained by The Eagle Online from a source in the Ogun State Police Command.
According to the information made available to The Eagle Online, one Adebesin Adebayo, who is the deceased’s landlord, reported the incident to the police at about 8:15pm on Monday.
Adebayo had reported that at about 5:30pm of the same Monday, he noticed that he had not seen his tenant for two days, prompting him to check her apartment.
He explained that her door was locked from inside, but he could perceive a bad odour coming from the apartment.
According to the Situation Report, following the report by Adebayo at Kemta Police Division, detectives visited the scene and broke into the apartment.

The body of the victim was found lying on the bed, swollen.
The Eagle Online, however, was made to understand: “Efforts made to evacuate the body to the nearest hospital proved abortive as there was no medical equipment to prevent infection.
“Local Health authorities were reached for collaboration but no positive response was received.”
The spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident to The Eagle Online on Tuesday, said efforts made to contact the family of the deceased failed as none was near or reachable.
Odutola, a Chief Superintendent of Police, added that the scene has been cordoned and under monitoring, assuring that further development will be communicated soonest.
