Offa FC of Offa on Tuesday defeated Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin FC 1-0 in a charity match organised to raise money for victims of the April 5 robbery attack in the community.
The match, which was played at the Offa Township Stadium, had Offa FC and ABS fans in attendance.
The homers were awarded a penalty in the 31st minute when ABS Amos Alamu was adjudged to have tripped an Offa FC attacker in his box.
Suleiman Abdulkadir in the 33rd minute stepped forward and sent Nurudeen Mudasir in goal for ABS to the wrong direction for the lone goal.
ABS, however, dominated proceedings after the goal, especially when David Okoromi replaced Golden Udoinyang in the attack for the Saraki Boys.
The proceedings from the gate takings, according to the organisers, ABS management and Offa Descendant Union, would go to the victims of the robbery attack.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the robbery attack on banks and the Police Divisional Station in the ancient city had claimed no fewer than 17 persons.
