Controversial Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, was among the four ministers dropped from the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday.
Also dropped was another controversial minister, Godsday Orubebe, who was until Wednesday the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade, has also left the cabinet.
The fourth minister dropped was the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Yerima Ngama.
While Ngama, Orubebe and Olubolade are believed to be gunning for the governorship of their states in 2015, Oduah had been involved in several scandals, the latest being the controversial purchase of two BMW cars for N225 million.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, after the Federal Executive Council meeting, announced that the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Samuel Ortom, would supervise the aviation ministry pending the appointment of a substantive minister, while the Minister of State for the FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, would supervise the police affairs ministry.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, would remain in charge of finance, while the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Darius Ishaku, would take full charge of the ministry in the meantime.
Maku said President Goodluck Jonathan informed Council that the exit of his former Chief of Staff, Chief Mike Ogiadhome, had nothing to do with an alleged mega fraud in the Nigeria National Petroleum Commission.
He said the President allowed him to leave to be able to pursue other interests.
