Flying Eagles coach John Obuh has said he will ring changes when his team faces Egypt’s U-20s in a second warm-up game on Friday in Cairo.
On Wednesday, the Nigeria U-20s defeated their hosts 3-1 in the first game to prepare both teams for next month’s African Youth Championship in Algeria.
Obuh said: “I now have some solid information on at least three of the strikers who played on Wednesday.
“Overall, they played very much to instructions, their marking was good and that forced the other team to try and use the long ball.
“Their stamina and attitude was equally good.
“But I expected a bigger fight from Egypt.
“Probably, we will get this in our next game.”
Friday’s clash will kick off at 8pm local time, which is 7pm Nigerian time.
It will also be played at the Degla Stadium, after a last-minute shift from the Salam Stadium, which is the home ground of top Egypt Premier League club, Petrojet.
In the meantime, the Nigeria Football Federation has sent out technical department officer, Rafiu Yusuf, to spy on the Flying Eagles AYC Group B opponents, Gabon, who took on Benin U-20s in a warm-up game on Wednesday in Cotonou.
Benin beat Gabon 3-2 after both teams also played two games in Libreville recently.
Gabon won the first game 1-0, while the second game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Gabon top star is skipper Franck Engonga, who featured for his country at the 2012 London Olympics.
In October, the 19-year-old former FC Mounana striker signed a five-year contract with top Argentina club, Boca Juniors, to make him the first player from his country to play in South America.
The Flying Eagles face debutants Gabon on March 20 in a Group B match.
