The Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Women Football League, Ayo Abdulrahman, has called on the four participating clubs in the NWPL Relegation Play-Off to abide strictly by the rules of the competition.
Abdulrahman said in Lagos on Friday that the four clubs: Dream Stars of Lagos, Invincible Angels of Gboko, Osun Babes of Osogbo and Kaduna Queens, should make things easy.
He said in a statement: “The team will make things easy for the NWFL board if they play by the rules in the one-day competition, where only two teams will be promoted out of four.
“If the clubs adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of the play-off, they will make things easy.
“When you know the rules, there is no need beating about the bush on matters relating to each of the two games that will be played on October 2
“They will play at the FIFA Goal Project, Package B of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.”
Abdulrahman added that in the first game, Dream Stars of Lagos would battle against Invincible Angels of Gboko, while the second playoff game would see Osun Babes slugging it out for survival against Kaduna Queens.
“Only the winners of the two games would stay back to continue playing in the Nigeria Women Premier League, while the losers will go into relegation waters,” he said.
