The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation has nominated its President, Chimdi Ejiogu, to represent Nigeria at the African Weightlifting Federation.
Yahaya Mohammed, the Vice President of NWF, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja that Ejiogu was picked based on his experience.
Mohammed said: “We have nominated one of our own to represent Nigeria at African Weightlifting Federation.
“The board decided on Ejiogu to go and represent Nigeria there because he has been there and understands the workings in the African continent.
“We want him to continue.”
Mohammed said Ejiogu’s first three-year tenure had brought honour to the country and he had not done anything wrong to warrant his being denied another tenure.
