The Nigeria Union of Journalists has directed its members to boycott the activities of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, while threatening to sue the organisation for assault.
At its ongoing meeting, the union lamented the harassment and brutality meted on Waheed Adebayo of the Leadership newspaper by officials of the NSCDC in Ibadan, Oyo State, led by one Femi Bamidele.
The union recalled that the Ade Abolurin-led organisation has been in the news lately for wrong doings, and thereby urged Nigerians to continue to expose the illegal and corrupt activities as well of the NSCDC and its officials.
The NUJ meeting is ongoing.
