Equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday recorded marginal growth with the market indices appreciating by 0.02 per cent.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the All-Share Index appreciated by 7.85 points to close at 38,952.47 against the 38,944.62 posted on Thursday.
The market capitalisation, which opened at N12.509 trillion, grew by N2 billion to close at N12.511 trillion.
Forte Oil led the gainers’ table by N9.61 to close at N104 per share.
Total came second on the gainers’ table with N4 to close at N170, while Flour Mill inched by N1.99 to close at N77.99 per share.
UACN gained 93k to close at N66, while Glaxosmith rose by 70k to close at N70.70 per share.
On the other hand, Nestle topped the losers’ chart, dropping N24.50 to close at N1, 035.50 per share.
Guinness dipped by N8.27 to close at N171.73, while Unilever lost N1.46 to close at N47 per share.
Nigerian Breweries dropped 33k to close at N146.09, while Nascon depreciated by 20k to close at N13 per share.
NAN also reports that the volume of shares traded rose by 1.39 per cent as investors exchanged 342.186 million shares valued at N3.22 billion in 4,138 deals.
This was against the 337.464 million shares worth N3.51 billion traded in 4,258 deals on Thursday.
Cornerstone was investors’ delight with 62.12 million shares valued at N34.11 million exchanged in seven deals.
Access Bank trailed with 52.57 million shares worth N394.39 million traded in 256 deals,
Sterling Bank accounted for 26.73 million shares valued at N58.95 million traded in 43 deals, while Transcorp sold 23.79 million shares valued at N94.63 million in 237 deals.
