The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday rose by N128 billion as a result of price gains by some blue chips.
Market capitalisation rose by 1.11 per cent to close at N11.61 trillion against the N11.48 trillion recorded on Wednesday.
Also, the All-Share Index, which opened at 36,215.57, appreciated by 260.73 points to close at 36,476.30.
Dangote Cement led the gainers’ chart with a gain of N4 to close at N194 per share, while Nigerian Breweries followed with N2.71 to close at N164 per share.
GlaxoSmithKline grew by N1.85 to close at N65.30 per share, while Ashaka Cement appreciated by 70k to close at N21 per share.
Lafarge Wapco rose by 50k to close at N92.50 per share.
On the other hand, Julius Berger led the price losers’ chart with a loss of N3.21 to close at N71.50 per share.
Guinness trailed with a loss of N3 to close at N247 per share, while Beta Glass dropped N1.31 to close at N11.87 per share.
Unilever depreciated by N1.05 to close at N60, while Portpaint dipped by 50k to close at N4.51 per share.
In all, investors exchanged 223.07 million shares worth N4.01 billion in 5,133 deals against the 281.93 million shares valued at N3.04 billion traded in 5,323 deals on Wednesday.
