Weekly transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange opened on a negative note on Monday as major blue chips recorded price losses.
Due to the losses, the All-share index depreciated by 186.25 points or 0.5 per cent to close at 36,800.68 from the 36,986.93 recorded on Friday.
Also, the market capitalisation, which opened at N11.713 trillion, depreciated by N59 billion to close at N11.654 trillion.
Guinness led the losers’ chart by N7 to close at N258 per per share.
ConOil came second with N3.20 to close at N29.80 per share, while UACN dropped N2.89 to close at N59 per share.
Presco lost N1.29 to close at N35 per share, while Lafarge Wapco dipped by N1 to close at N95 per share.
On the other hand, OkomuOil led the price gainers’ chart by 0.75k to close at N44.50 per share.
Academy Press followed with 0.17k to close at N1.93 per share, while Zenith Bank grew by 15k to close at N20.99 per share.
Jos International Breweries gained 11k to close at N1.27 per share, while Trans-Nationwide Express rose by 10k to close at N1.15 per share.
In all, investors exchanged a total of 173.96 million shares worth N2.4 billion in 4,382 deals against the 272.14 million shares worth N3.5 billion exchanged in 4,020 deals on Friday.
