Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command have detained a suspect for alleged armed robbery.
SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, the Corps Public Relations Officer in the state, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Kano.
He said the suspect, Amir Mohammed, 24, of Ja’en Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area, was arrested on November 7, 2024 by a team of the corps on security duty at Sharada Federal Housing Estate, Kano.
Idris-Abdullahi said: “The suspect forcefully broke into the house of one Alhaji Mustafa Abubakar, stabbed him and his family severally on various parts of their bodies, leaving them in a pool of blood.
“The suspect stabbed Abubakar in 11 sensitive parts of his body, including neck and chest, in an attempt to kill and rob him of his smartphone and laptop, which he planned to use to empty the victim’s bank accounts.”

Idris-Abdullahi said the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, adding: “Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the same compound earlier on Nov.1, and robbed the victim of his two sim cards.
“Effort is being made to apprehend one other accomplice, Abbas Danmama, who is still at large.”
He noted that upon completion of investigation, the case would be transferred to the Nigerian Police for further investigation and necessary legal actions.
